MERIÇ EKREN

Honor the Journey
Embrace Grace

Meriç Ekren’s yoga journey has begun while teaching English to children in Sri Lanka. What started as a coincidental introduction to yoga postures inspired her to further explore the roots of the ancient tradition, followed by a teacher training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in London. Having worked a demanding career in corporate London for many years, Yoga came in to her life as a remedy for holistic health and inner strength.

Based in Hamar, Meriç continues to offer classes to a variety of backgrounds & abilities at her own studio and other local venues in Hedmark. Some of her most memorable work include teaching Astanga Vinyasa Yoga to the inmates at Hamar Prison, student Athletes of WANG Toppidrett Skole , City's pride HamKam Football Club, members of Atlungstad Golf Club, Employees of Norsk Tipping, Utdannings Direktoratet ,Friskstiftelsen and K.A.Rasmussen.

She loves dynamic styles of movement as well as restorative practices. Her classes are invitations to discover & re-claim strength, body awareness and Grace. She has facilitated yoga workshops & women empowerment sessions in Norway, U.K, France & Turkey.

She has been hosted at Yoga Journal Turkey's podcast and appeared in the 'Mythic Yoga Flow' DVD with Sianna Sherman.

Her online classes can be found at Udaya.com.

She continues her studies at the KPJAYI Ashtanga Yoga Institute with ParamaGuru Shri R. Sharath Jois.
